Some friends and I are about to embark on our own little urban farm venture here in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, a food desert if ever there was one. We are excited and more than a little daunted. But we’re hopeful that this desert will once again bloom with wholesome deliciousness soon! Thanks for all your great ideas, CVG, you continue to inspire us.

Beware!
I don’t usually say anything bad about companies. But I feel I have to leave a warning. I received seeds that had I believe bacterial canker. The seedlings showed all the signs of it. They were in a room that had no other plants in it. I have found out since then I could have soaked the seeds in 10% solution of bleach for 30 minutes and that would have killed it. So if you have purple cherokee seeds from them you might want to do that.

It’s been such a long time since I had a garden, any suggestions on vegetables for a fall garden in zone 8?
