Hunting for spring at our local nurseries

Since nothing is blooming in my yard and my wife convinced me that Northwest Flower & Garden Show would be a little too busy for our young girls (I know she was right, as usual) We decided instead to go on a nursery tour, I normally get my plants from our closest nursery or the local home and garden center but was curious what the other dozen or so nurseries in my area had to offer. We didn’t bring anything home (little too early for vegetable seedlings) but did get some pictures that spring was not too far away.

My sister and I did the same thing, but we came back with plants. Of, course we are much farther South than you are. We just couldn’t wait any longer to get out among some growing plants.Jan Always Growing

Well guess I lied a little bit, my girls did get some daffodils and pansies at the home and garden store. The prices were a little too steep for their allowance at the nursery.

DOZEN or so nurseries??? Not fair!! We only have one within an hour’s drive that is worth going to. 🙁 The rest are Lowe’s, Meijer, Walmart and Menard’s – none of them proper nurseries.

We have one that is about a 15 minute drive from our house. Sounds like a good trip to see what they have

Just out of curiosity I checked online there are 63 nurseries within a 15 mile radius, guess I have plenty more to visit this spring. Unfortunately/fortunately I grow most of my plants from seeds so never really need to buy anything.
